Tuesday, May 26: Board of directors meetings. The board will meet for a special meeting/work session at 4:30 p.m. to interview students for representative positions. The board also will hold a regular meeting at 6 p.m. Both meetings are open to the public at the Lewisville Campus and viewable via livestreaming. Get the details.

End-of-year checklist
Watch for an email later this week with an end-of-year checklist and guide to getting ready for school in the fall. It contains important information about returning materials, accessing report cards, enrollment transportation, summer meals and camps and much, much more.
Volunteer survey
If you have recently volunteered in a Battle Ground school, thank you! We are seeking volunteer feedback to better understand volunteer participation and improve meaningful support opportunities in our schools. Please take a moment to complete this short survey. The deadline is Wednesday, June 3. Your input will help us strengthen communication; remove barriers; and create more impactful volunteer experiences for students, staff, and our community.
What to know about student Chromebooks next year
For the 2026-27 school year, Battle Ground will be making adjustments to primary and middle school students’ access to school-issued technology. See a summary of the changes.
Chromebooks will continue to play an important role in providing access to learning materials, student work and testing. While the change does not result in a significant cost savings, we believe that it reduces dependence on technology and encourages responsible use. We will continue to assess the impact of this change as the year progresses and evaluate options as needed.
SUN Bucks support families during the summer
In 2026, Washington families may be eligible to receive $120 per eligible child to purchase groceries during the summer months, when school is out of session, through the SUN Bucks program. Benefits are loaded onto SUN Bucks EBT cards for each eligible child and mailed to the family’s home. SUN Bucks benefits can be used to buy food like fruits, vegetables, meat, whole grains, dairy and more at grocery stores, farmers markets and other places that accept EBT benefits.
How to enroll: Some children are automatically enrolled, while others need to submit an application. Use this online screening tool to determine whether you need to submit an application.
If you did not receive a SUN Bucks card, you can still apply during the summer at sunbucks.dshs.wa.gov.
Need to update your address? Contact the SUN Bucks Call Center at 833-543-3230 or TTY 800-833-6384.

Highlighting the class of 2026
Battle Ground Public Schools wants to highlight the class of 2026. If you are (or know) a graduating senior interested in being part of this year’s feature, please fill out this form (requires logging in) and upload a photo of yourself. Selections will be featured on the district website, social media channels and more. Thank you, and congratulations to the class of 2026!
Summer credit recovery options
High school credit recovery is available to current high schoolers, including high school seniors, who want to earn credit for a course they failed. Current eighth grade students may also recover credit for the Washington state history requirement. Learn more and register for credit recovery.
Due to budget challenges, BGPS will not offer courses for original credit this summer or summer school for kindergarten through eighth grade. Only credit recovery will be available.

See student artwork from the 67th annual District Art Show
The District Art Show is a tradition that began in 1959. Battle Ground High School art teacher Bob Peck, in collaboration with Battle Ground city librarian Florence Rieck, started the show as a way to share students’ artistic talents with the community. Today, that legacy continues with an online gallery.
View the amazing art within our district!
A few of the district’s art teachers will also speak briefly about the importance of art in our schools during the May 26 board of directors meeting starting at 6 p.m.
This is just one example of the many good things happening in our schools every day. For more highlights, visit the news section of the district website, subscribe to the BGPS Bulletin and follow us on Facebook and/or Instagram.
Summer camps and activities
Battle Ground Community Education will offer a variety of classes and summer camps, including camps for students in pre-kindergarten through third grade, volleyball camps for incoming fifth through eighth graders and sports camps for kids of all ages.
