The Forecasting form for grades 3-7 was emailed to families on March 4th. Please fill out this important online form by March 11th.
Congratulations to 5th - 8th graders who participated in the March 7th Solar Car Challenge. Everyone did a fantastic job and the support for our six teams was awesome! Abby Denfeld, Sofia Teacher, Althea Jones placed 4th in the race. Matthew Lowenstein, Mark Lowenstein, Roman Shevelev placed 2nd in the race. Guar Mahesh, Dante Marquez-Garcia, Henry Amundson placed 2nd in the Engineering Design Interview and Presentation. Nice job, Panthers!

CAM Academy is hosting our Spring Blood Drives on April 1 and May 27th from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm in our commons. If you are eligible to donate, please consider signing up and supporting our National Honor Society in their efforts to help our community and earn scholarships for our 2026 graduates.

| Standardized testing opportunities In April, students will have a chance to take the ASVAB and/or world language test. ASVAB scores are used to determine if someone is qualified to enlist in the military and to assign someone to an appropriate job in the military. Scores above 31 will also fulfill graduation pathway requirements. Register online by April 18 for the test on April 25. World language tests give students a chance to earn up to four credits and possibly the State Seal of Biliteracy on their diploma. Register online by April 10 for the test on April 25.

| Provide input on budget cuts that will affect every BGPS school Following the failure of the proposed replacement educational programs and operations levy, we will hold listening sessions to collect community input on budget cuts that need to be made for the 2026-27 school year. Session #2: March 11 | 5:30–7:30 p.m. | Prairie H.S. media center TIME: 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and are open to the public. Anyone may attend this session. In addition to these sessions, people will be able to provide their input via two online tools. These tools will be available on March 4 on the district website. While the listening sessions and tools are not meant to be a vote on the cuts, all feedback and comments will be carefully reviewed. |

The district’s board of directors recently approved next year’s academic calendar. Key dates include:
First day of school: Sept. 1, 2026
Thanksgiving break: Nov. 25-27
Winter break: Dec. 21-Jan. 1, 2027
Spring break: April 5-9
Last day of school: June 15 (unless there are weather-related closures that must be made up at the end of the school year)
| Staff Shout-out for the Week: Mr. Cowl would like to give a shout out to Mrs. Smith. Mrs. Smith is always so positive, personal and great with her students. She makes learning come alive in her science classroom. She provides learning opportunities for students such as Solar Cars and Yearbook advising. Mrs. Smith puts students first and is intentional about providing hands-on activities that keep students excited about learning. Thank you for all you do Mrs. Smith! |
